Why to Perk up Writing Skills and What Are the Ways to Do So?

With the incorporation of write-ups in modern educational system and in the admission criteria’s of various programs like SAT, Business Schools admission tests, the need to perk up writing skills has recently came up as challenging and required goal for students. They need to focus more on quality writings now because the era of copying is gone, now there are tools that detects the sources from where a data is copied and therefore the only way to cope up with this task is to polish up your writing skills.
Students usually have a perception that it’s the world’s hardest task which is just next to impossible which is not true; writing is difficult but not impossible to learn. There are certain ways through which helps to perk-up the writing skills,

• Reading is the key factor in polishing up writing ability because this helps to understand the basic requirements, formats and most of all one learns new words which will increase the vocabulary and will help a student to come up with quality write-ups.
• Instructors should give interesting topics to students in starting s that they can develop the writing ability in them. Interesting topics will motivate the students to write and share their own experiences which will ultimately develop the habit of writing in them.
• Teachers should provide instant reviews and feedbacks on the write-ups so that before final evaluation the students get to know their mistakes and the loop holes and they get the chance to correct it.
• While writing certain paragraph or an essay, a time limit must be pre set because in certain cases like for admission essays or other degree programs have a certain time limit to be followed.
• Reliable resources and proper guidelines must be given to students so that they can get the best possible data.
• Students should prepare at least two drafts; first one would be a rough or initial draft that will include all the relevant data and description. Second one will be the refined copy of first draft that is, all irrelevant data, spelling, grammar errors will be corrected.
• Before starting to write, one must have background knowledge of a particular topic so that a proper frame work could be drawn.

This doesn’t mean that every other day student are given a writing assignment but there must be a session dedicated for writing or may be for creative writing only. This session will help students to improve their writing skills for different projects like thesis writing, essay writing or research writing assignments. The improvisation in writing skills especially for students is very much important these days in order to get better results.
