Writing Articles - It Is No Secret What Your Readers Want

There is a simple trick to becoming aware of what your readers expect from you. All you need to do is to give some serious thought to what you want to get out of your own reading. When you make the effort to read a published article, just exactly what are you expecting?
Whatever the topic, subject or level of what you (or your readers) are reading, the answers will fall into a small number of categories. Keeping this in mind will help you stay on track, to providing a satisfactory reward to those who take the time and effort to read what you have produced.
I think we can agree that the motive for the great majority of readers is to obtain information which they want or need. This does not mean that as long as your writing contains such useful material, all will be well and everyone happy!
The more you read, the more you can accept that there appears to be an almost infinite number of ways in which facts, ideas and opinions can be presented.

You could almost think of it in the same way as musical notes being arranged in different ways, to continue producing original music.

The value of what you want to provide for your readers lies in what it is about it which is you.

Very few of us are likely to come up with ideas which are completely new and original. What we can do, is to make an effort, which conveys to readers our own personal slant on what we believe will be of value, for them to learn.

Can we put our information in the form of a story? Everyone loves a really interesting tale, which contains ideas and lessons.

What can we add to our main points to support our argument? Sometimes some figures in the form of statistics can be useful.

Almost everyone likes to be amused, so a little humour rarely goes amiss. Do remember though, when using numbers, that fifty percent of statistics tell only half the story!

You will never please all the readers all the time. When you provide useful information, tell a story, back it up and perhaps make someone smile, you have a good chance of being read and appreciated.

You know you have something to say, or you would not be considering writing articles. It will become easier and more fun as your skills improve.

No need to struggle on your own; get some guidance and perhaps mentoring, to speed up your progress.

When you write your early articles, you might not be an immediate success. If you write nothing, you fail straight away.
