Turn Your E-Books Into Audio Books, But Also Make An Online Video During the Process

Have you noticed that more often than not, if you take a walk or jog or bicycle ride you see people moving about with tiny earphones in their head. You can say "hi" but they won't acknowledge you, they can't hear you, they are listening to something else, music, or maybe even an e-book. Speaking of which, have you noticed fewer people are buying and reading books these days? They don't have time, they've reallocated their time to staying in contact via social networks and texting, no time to sit down and turn it all off, potentially miss a tweet or two, while reading a book.
Okay so, if the publishers and big book stores can't make a living anymore selling books, maybe that ought to tell all us authors something. In other words, why should we fight this growing trend, society has made up its mind, and our culture has changed. No, not for everyone, but for the majority, and it's hard to make a living writing, publishing and selling books against the majority's new direction. Now, us authors are writing more e-books, and a significantly less number of actual hardbound books.

Too, the e-books seem to be getting smaller in length, which makes sense as that too is what people want, as that fights into their new personal time allocation paradigm if you will. Also, maybe folks would prefer listening to a book than reading an e-book in short chapters. If so, and if all this trend is continuing, why fight it, make digital audio books too, why not?

There was an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal on August 3, 2013 titled; "Can You Hear Me Now? By Alexandra Alter and the article noted; "With lavish original productions and enticing new syncing technology, audio books have emerged as a rare bright spot in the publishing business. Every smartphone is a player." Basically, that is very true isn't it?

Therefore, why wouldn't you read your e-book aloud and sell that too, and while you are at it, why not also make YouTube video e-book trailers, and readings, along with a few chapters read by you, the author, getting new potential readers interested and creating a following online, perhaps getting some of you content into the viral social networking game as our society blurs the line between the real and virtual world - welcome to the Matrix, now your job is to figure out how to make it work for you. Please consider all this and think on it.
